Fishing - Lewiston Lake
Trinity Lake  |  Upper Trinity River  |  Lower Trinity River  |  Lewiston  |  The Alps   |  Carrville Pond  |  Other Area Water

The spot that originally brought us to Trinity County in the mid-seventies, Lewiston lake is one of the area's best kept secret treasures. Smaller than it's bigger cousin, Trinity Lake, Lewiston enjoys fine trout fishing year-round (in season) due to its cold source water flowing out from the Trinity dam, 400 feet below the surface. The state record German Brown trout was caught in Lewiston in the mid-seventies.

Best times of the year to fish Lewiston Lake

Late Spring to Early Fall

Trout can be taken on bait as well as on spinners and flies from the opening of the season until the season closes. Sometimes fishing can be very very good using small nymphs, wets or dries.

Large browns are targeted trolling minnow type lures deep.
